This position sits within a fast-paced finance team where Credit Control is viewed as a strategic business function, not just an administrative process.

You’ll manage the full order-to-cash cycle, working closely with finance leadership, operational teams, and account managers to protect cash flow while supporting commercial growth.

You’ll be responsible for everything from customer credit assessments and reconciliations through to escalations, reporting, forecasting, and legal recovery processes.

What will you be doing?

  • Manage the end-to-end credit control and order-to-cash process
  • Conduct credit checks on new and existing customers
  • Review financial statements to assess credit risk and set credit limits
  • Make decisions on credit holds, billing releases, and customer exposure
  • Chase overdue debt via phone, email, and formal written communication
  • Manage customer invoice disputes and agree payment resolutions
  • Manage relationships with third-party debt collection agencies
  • Maintain and reconcile the sales ledger
  • Process manual invoices and ad-hoc billing adjustments
  • Post and allocate cash, bank receipts, and card payments
  • Produce weekly cash flow forecasts and debtor reporting

What do you need?

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a credit control position
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Advanced Excel capability including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
  • Confidence handling difficult conversations professionally
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
